About Melissa-Kate
The Scousest Prin
Melissa-Kate is a designer from Merseyside who was one of Jimmy Choo's first MA graduates from The Jimmy Choo Academy in Mayfair.
In 2023 she was awarded British Emerging designer by Northern Fashion Week.
She designed previously for all major UK fashion high street retailers but left to pursue luxury fashion for kinder morals and ethics whilst sharing her creative vision with the world.
As a spiritual person she tempts fate with the process of her designs, claiming everything happens for a reason. This playful approach to the brand ties in perfectly for its admiration for sustainability by lower consumption. Often using 'found fabrics' and deadstock to create one off or limited looks.
She creates everything by hand with couture sewing techniques as much as possible, which she trained to do in her 7 years of fashion education.
She continues to be a fashion mentor to current students at Jimmy Choo Academy whilst showcasing at London Fashion Week every season
